Light on a chip
A Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) is a chip that manipulates light. Where an electronic IC controls electrons via voltages and currents, a PIC routes and processes photons using waveguides, resonators, modulators, and detectors, fabricated with the compactness, repeatability, and cost structure of semiconductor manufacturing.
PICs enable high-bandwidth, low-loss optical signal processing and precision sensing in a chip-scale form factor. LIGENTEC’s SiN PIC platform provides the photonic backbone for applications in coherent communications, LiDAR, quantum photonics, and metrology.
