Europe’s pure-play Silicon Nitride photonic foundry
LIGENTEC is a pure-play Silicon Nitride (SiN) photonic foundry, founded in 2016 as an EPFL spin-off and headquartered in Ecublens, Switzerland. We fabricate SiN Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) using our proprietary SiN deposition process, with waveguide core thicknesses from 150 nm to 800 nm across three platforms: AN150, AN350, and AN800.
Our offering covers the full path from design to production: MPW shuttle runs (~15/year) for cost-effective prototyping; dedicated wafer runs on the same 200 mm automotive-qualified process; a complete PDK with DRC and validated models (Luceda, Synopsys, Lumerical, GDSFactory); and design support, packaging, and testing services. The same process applies at every volume — no redesign required when you scale.
Beyond the standard SiN platform, LIGENTEC LABS offers heterogeneous integration — TFLN modulator integration for high-speed modulation and InGaAs photodetector integration — plus expanded X-FAB access to the XPH90 SOI platform.
