What is the difference between AN800 and AN350?

Two platforms, one decision

AN800 features an all-nitride-core waveguide with 800 nm SiN thickness, optimised for C-band and beyond. High mode confinement (>90% in the nitride) enables anomalous dispersion, essential for broadband nonlinear processes such as octave-spanning frequency comb generation via soliton microresonators. Propagation loss < 0.5 dB/m; Q above 20 million. High damage threshold supports watt-level optical power in waveguides.

AN350 uses a 350 nm core for O-band applications with single-mode operation from 780 nm, and is excellent for C-band linear applications where minimising loss is critical.

Choose AN800 for: frequency comb generation, quantum PICs, atomic clocks, nonlinear signal processing and LiDAR requiring high-Q resonators . Choose AN350 for: O-band and C-band coherent links, biosensing, dense passive routing, splitters, couplers, and delay lines.

Both platforms share the same PDK (Luceda, Synopsys, Lumerical, GDSFactory) and 200 mm automotive-qualified process. Thermo-optic heaters (Pπ < 15 mW) are available on both. The path from MPW to volume production is identical regardless of platform.
