LIGENTEC ACADEMY it’s our new learning program to help you understand the importance of silicon nitride photonic integrated circuits (PICs) in different application areas. It comprehends a group of webinars spread along the year.
This 2021, a total of four webinars are planned to take place.
LIGENTEC Academy continued with its Webinar #2 about “PIC Testing”.
By attending this 1-hour session, participants gained insights into 2 distinct aspects of PIC testing: testing on PICs for performance, and test-&-quality of PICs during volume PIC manufacturing. The former aspect focused on high end performance testing of a PIC, for example of a high Q ring resonator. The latter aspect focused on volume-capable concepts for combined electro-optical test-&-qualify steps in PIC and photonic device manufacturing, with implications for ‘design for manufacturing’ and ‘design for test’, for test system design, and so too for multichannel probe head development. To round off the webinar we heared about test-&-measurement instrumentation relevant to both topics, namely available instrumentation options for high performance PICs, and instrumentation concepts for multichannel test-&-qualify of on-wafer PICs, respectively. For this, we brought together 3 important players from the product development workflow eco-system: LIGENTEC (PICs), ficonTEC (systems for test) and Keysight (instrumentation).
Participation was recommended to nanotechnology, optics and sensing enthusiasts, M.Sc./Ph.D candidates, postdocs & students.
